welcome back.

countdown 11 weeks.


as for blogging... its been awhile...

my mom has been in town. still is actually. but only a few days left. we have been busy busy traveling and playing with kiddies and watching ridiculous amounts of Grey's Anatomy and cooking. it's been really wonderful and i forgot what it was like to have someone to hang out with all the time.

we're in suzhou now. for a transit day before heading to shanghai for one more hurrah. today is my moms birthday and we wandered gardens and the streets of suzhou before having a really nice dinner. we had our real celebration last night with friends in yangzhong and a cake and presents and dancing.




tomorrow will be part two of the celebration as we have a fancy fun suite where we are going to take hour long hot showers and drink from the executive club floor. i am really really excited to live the fancy life for an evening! i really don't want to think about my long train and bus rides back to the yz on monday afternoon but it is nagging me and i am kinda nervous about the tearshed.

pics to come, but we spent a weekend in shanghai, went up to beijing, some time in zhenjiang and changzhou and then quite a bit of it in yangzhong hanging out with my friends and teaching class and pondering the strangeness of living in such a small and bizarre place.
