China Large Circus

Come one, come all... To the China Large Circus. Go figure. Debbie called me this afternoon and was dying laughing because she found a circus in town... in our little tiny town! I met her in the north of town, in an abandoned lot, where there was a blue tent with flags on the top and a huge circus sign. We paid our fee, got pineapple on a stick and went in to enjoy the show. We were kinda terrified because we thought that we were going to see animals in horrible living situations, but it was an acrobatic show, which was pretty cool. We figure it is probably a few families. One man was translating what the ringmaster was saying and said that the children were all from the country and did this instead of school- and the kids were definitely elementary school age. It was really hokey but amazing and beautiful and we had a great time.

The pics explain it all, but pretty much, when you have a fourth of the foreign people in town at your event, you know you are a success, so Debbie and I were waved to and talked to by many. One of the organizers even came up to us and asked us if we wanted to be IN the circus... HA. We had a really good laugh, and then asked him what we could do! We figured no tightrope walking or spinning on a chair that was suspended in the air.. so it was all out of the question. I guess we could have been the catchers for the flying 8 year old girls, but we opted out of that one. We thought it would have been great to be in the show, but knew that we were too fat to actually do anything. I haven't gotten too negative about my body yet, but the fat issue is a big and much talked about one, so that deserves it's own entry. Hold on that one.

It was a good time. Cracked us up. We took a photo under the LARGE sign at the circus because it was just funny (fat issue again).

Tonight we sang karaoke for a few hours and met some Swiss guys in town on business. They joined us. Brought the foreign population up to 12 on the island, but they are only here for a week so no threats:)

Talk to you soon- Pics to come!
