RECAP Day 9

July 9- After a ridiculous evening, we woke up early for the breakfast buffet and then went back to sleep. The day was spent lounging and packing for the beach. We flew to Koh Samui in the afternoon and immediately took a ferry over to Koh Phagnan, which was really great because we hadn't planned on going over til the next day. We found a guesthouse (Jonathan's Bungalows) a few minutes from the beach and dropped our bags to go explore. We had dinner and set out to experience our first night out on Koh Phagnan, which was fantastic because it was the night of the World Cup final! Huge TV screens were set up all along the beach and we found a table and sat on the sand to watch. While waiting for it to start (1am) we met lots of people, and had our first bucket, a Phagnan tradition. Think little kid sand bucket filled with half liquor, half soda/mixer and ice.... Then think that everyone on the beach has them and they put you into the happy zone really fast. I did some EMT-ing on the beach and in the women's bathroom, for some unfortunate souls who couldn't handle their liquour. I felt like I was back at PSU again.... Anyhow, the World Cup final was amazing as we watched it with thousands of our closest friends and cheered on until 4am when the shootout finished... This was one of the early nights to bed:)
